Baseball Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Takes a Loss

Vista PEAK Prep easily dispatched Denver East last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bison fell just short of the Denver North Vikings by a score of 8-6 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bison have suffered since May 3, 2024.

Karter Robertson put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Robertson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Domenic Montoya was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

The loss snapped Vista PEAK Prep's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-8 record. As for Denver North, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vista PEAK Prep will take on Northfield at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Denver North, they will challenge Pueblo East at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
