Basketball Recap: West Jordan Drops Season-High Score on Granger

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Jordan). They claimed a resounding 72-28 victory over the Granger Lancers. The win was nothing new for the Jaguars as they're now sitting on seven straight.

West Jordan had a senior duo take command as Marlee Reupena went 10 for 16 on her way to 26 points along with six steals and five boards and Giselle Muffett dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Muffett's evening made it 13 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Erilyn Lokeni, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

West Jordan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matches.

West Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Granger, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the West Jordan Jaguars take on the Kearns Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Jordan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Kearns likes a good challenge. As for Granger, they will challenge Hunter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
