Football Recap: Lawton Comes Up Short

If Lawton was feeling good fresh off their 49-0 takedown of Western Heights last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines took a 30-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the El Reno Indians on Thursday. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Lawton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for El Reno, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawton will face off against Carl Albert at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Titans' defense has only allowed 5.9 points per game this season, so the Wolverines' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for El Reno, they will square off against Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Indians are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
