Soccer Game Preview: Covenant Christian vs. Oakridge

The Covenant Christian Chargers will square off against the Oakridge Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Covenant Christian's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Ottawa on Thursday. Covenant Christian have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Oakridge had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Big Reds an 8-0 shutout. That looming 8-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Oakridge yet this season.

Oakridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three games. As for Covenant Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
