Football Recap: Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn Takes a Loss

Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn blew Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood got their revenge. The Sioux fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 28-26.

A big part of Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood's victory came down to the chemistry between Drayson Johnson and his top target Eli Undlin. Johnson threw for 207 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes while Undlin gained 113 total yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 79 yards.

Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Coming up, Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn will challenge Nedrose on Friday. The Sioux will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood, they will welcome Towner-Granville-Upham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks will be up against the Titans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
