Football Recap: Pond Creek-Hunter Comes Up Short at Home Against Coyle

Pond Creek-Hunter unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 16-6 to the Coyle Bluejackets on Friday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Coyle was led to victory by Carsen Hock and Tyree Lancaster. Hock gained 164 total yards, while Lancaster rushed for 61 yards. Hock showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 55 yards.

Pond Creek-Hunter will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Waynoka at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Coyle, they have already played their next contest, a 48-32 win against Yale on the 4th.
