Baseball Game Preview: West Geauga Wolverines vs. Kirtland Hornets

The West Geauga Wolverines will face off against the Kirtland Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. West Geauga will be strutting in after a win while Kirtland will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, West Geauga turned things around against Berkshire on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Badgers.

Meanwhile, Kirtland suffered their closest defeat since May 15, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Wickliffe by a score of 4-2. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kirtland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Carkhuff, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

West Geauga now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Kirtland, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.
