Basketball Recap: Mckenzie Chapman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Parke Heritage

There's no place like home for Zionsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Parke Heritage Wolves on Saturday as the Zionsville Eagles made off with a 59-37 victory.

Zionsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mckenzie Chapman, who went 7 for 13 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. Caroline Sampson was another key player, putting up six points in addition to nine boards and four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Parke Heritage lost, don't look at Emma Simpson. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Simpson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Jenkins, who earned three points.

Zionsville's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Parke Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.

Zionsville will be playing at home against Hamilton Southeastern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton Southeastern will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Zionsville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Parke Heritage, they will head out on the road to challenge Linton-Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parke Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.
