Volleyball Recap: Mcgavock Falls to Nashville Christian in First Game of Season

McGavock had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Nashville Christian Eagles, falling 3-0. The Raiders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2018.

McGavock took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-15, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Cailyn Ekberg and Hallie Ekberg, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Ali Haskins-Morgan and her eight assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

The win got Nashville Christian back to even at 1-1.

McGavock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Cane Ridge on the 19th. As for Nashville Christian, they will take on Donelson Christian Academy at 5:45 p.m. on the 26th.
