Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Chapel Eagles vs. Fullerton Indians

The Calvary Chapel Eagles will face off against the Fullerton Indians at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Chapel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.

Fullerton better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Calvary Chapel really get things going. Calvary Chapel was the clear victor by a 69-48 margin over Godinez Fundamental on Wednesday.

Jorden Embry was his usual excellent self, putting up 31 points. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ben DeVries, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Fullerton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 50-45 to Tustin. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Tillers are ranked 220th).

Fullerton's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9. As for Calvary Chapel, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-13.

Calvary Chapel didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Fullerton in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, but they still walked away with a 56-51 victory. Will Calvary Chapel repeat their success, or does Fullerton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
