Basketball Game Preview: Patterson Tigers vs. Mountain House Mustangs

The Patterson Tigers will challenge the Mountain House Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Patterson is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Central Catholic on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Patterson came up short against Central Catholic, falling 62-41. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite their loss, Patterson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lawrence Price, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Johnson, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, it looked like the Kentucky Derby when Mountain House faced off against Clovis North on Tuesday. Mountain House was dealt a 73-38 defeat at the hands of Clovis North. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Broncos are ranked 20th).

Patterson's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Mountain House, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
