Carlsbad had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Granite Hills Eagles on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Lancers as they're now sitting on 17 straight.

Carlsbad's got stronger as the match went on, holding Granite Hills to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-20.

Roman Payne paced Carlsbad's offense, picking up 11 kills. Payne got some help from Ben Sauerwine and his 26 assists. Nate Hedgecock and Derek Bashford kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Carlsbad's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 32-2. As for Granite Hills, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-11.
