Baseball Recap: Monticello Panthers vs. Goshen Central Gladiators
Monticello extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-7 in the process. They came up short against the Goshen Central Gladiators, falling 25-1. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Gladiators from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
As for Goshen Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The game marked their most dominant win of the season so far.
For Goshen Central's part, Anthony Crispino and Grant Musson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Crispino tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Monticello and Goshen Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Panthers will take on Cornwall Central at 4:15 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (600 vs. 299). Meanwhile, Goshen Central (ranked 157th) will meet Newburgh Free Academy (ranked 34th) at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
