Basketball Recap: Cumberland County Takes a Loss

Cumberland County was the 76-70 winner over White County when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Cumberland County Jets took a 73-54 bruising from the White County Warriors on Friday.

It was another big night for Tripp Pinion, who went 16 for 25 on his way to 41 points and seven rebounds for White County. Pinion's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Tucker Pinion also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Cumberland County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for White County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-14.

Cumberland County and White County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Cumberland County will face off against Stone Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 219 places (278 vs. 59). Meanwhile, White County (ranked 194th) will meet Upperman (ranked 31st) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
