Recap: Culver Academies Eagles vs. Michigan City Wolves
The Culver Academies Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-40 win over Michigan City. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Culver Academies also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Culver Academies' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayla Herron, who scored 15 points along with six assists and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Herron posted two or more blocks. Valencia Miller was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Culver Academies' victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Michigan City, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-14.
Culver Academies will be playing in front of their home fans against Lowell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Lowell is ranked 163rd, while Culver Academies is ranked 178th). As for Michigan City, they will head out on the road to face off against Laporte at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Laporte has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
