Basketball Recap: Rosehill Christian Comes Up Short

Rosehill Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by the St. Francis Episcopal Wolves and fell 93-39. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-50 on January 10th.

Rosehill Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Carter Johnson, who posted ten points in addition to five assists and five boards. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jensen Mireles, who had 12 points and three steals.

St. Francis Episcopal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Hodge led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. John Laboy, II was another key player, going 9 for 13 on his way to 23 points.

Rosehill Christian now has a losing record at 13-14. As for St. Francis Episcopal, they pushed their record up to 23-7 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rosehill Christian will host Northland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Northland Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 matches. As for St. Francis Episcopal, they will welcome Westbury Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis Episcopal is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.3 points per game this season.
