Basketball Recap: Tresia Spillman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Marion-Franklin

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dublin Scioto, Westland was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Marion-Franklin Red Devils as the Westland Cougars made off with a 65-40 victory. Considering the Cougars' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Westland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tresia Spillman led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Spillman a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Arianna Fee, who went 8 of 12 en route to 18 points and four steals.

Westland's win bumped their record up to 2-16. As for Marion-Franklin, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
