Softball Recap: West Bladen Knights vs. South Columbus Stallions

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Brunswick, West Bladen was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the South Columbus Stallions by a score of 7-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 10, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Allison Hickman was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Natalee Sykes was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Marlene Crabtree was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
