Basketball Recap: Wisner-Pilger Triumphs

Wisner-Pilger posted their closest victory since January 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Clarkson/Leigh Patriots out 42-39. This was payback for the Gators, who suffered a 52-37 loss the last time these two teams met.

Defeat or not, Clarkson/Leigh got some senior leadership from Brynn Settje and Baylee Settje. Brynn posted 12 points in addition to eight steals and five boards, while Baylee almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baylee has scored all season.

Wisner-Pilger's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Clarkson/Leigh, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

After both having extra time off, Wisner-Pilger and Lyons-Decatur Northeast will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th. As for Clarkson/Leigh, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pierce on February 11th.
