Basketball Recap: Germantown Piles Up the Points Against Hamilton

Germantown had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past the Hamilton Chargers, posting a 68-40 win. The Warhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Germantown had a senior duo take command as Madeline Jakusz almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds and Danica Gosz went 6-for-12 on her way to 16 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Gosz's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Mani, who posted ten points and four steals.

Germantown's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points over those games. As for Hamilton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Germantown will venture away from home to square off against Brookfield East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hamilton, they will head out to face off against Menomonee Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Menomonee Falls will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hamilton surely won't give up without a fight.
