Softball Recap: Rocklin Thunder vs. Folsom Bulldogs
Rocklin had won three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 14-3 to make it four. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Folsom Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-0 back in March.
Payton Prior spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooke Lomelli, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Kylee Rogers also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Rocklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Folsom only posted a batting average of .200.
As for Folsom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8-2. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly five runs.
On Folsom's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devyn Huber, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Rocklin will challenge rival Oak Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Thunder 1.7, the Trojans 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Folsom is set to face off against their familiar foe Granite Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
