Baseball Game Preview: Mojave Mustangs vs. Lone Pine Golden Eagles

Mojave hasn't had much luck against Lone Pine recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mustangs will head out to challenge the Golden Eagles at 3:15 p.m. Mojave has given up an average of 15.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mojave is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 22-1 to North. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly 21 runs.

Lone Pine came out on top against Trona on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Tornadoes with a sharp 14-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won seven in a row.

Lone Pine pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mojave, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Mojave might still be hurting after the 19-0 loss they got from Lone Pine in their previous matchup on April 10th. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
