Volleyball Recap: Newark Takes a Loss

Newark was the 2-0 winner over Buckeye Valley when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of the Barons by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Newark still got an impressive performance from Reese Riley, who had 17 digs and two aces. Riley is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Newark's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Buckeye Valley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newark will square off against Groveport-Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buckeye Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Grandview Heights at 7:00 p.m.
