Softball Recap: Austin Maroons vs. Akins Eagles
Austin had to endure an 11-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Akins Eagles 10-3. The win was just what Austin needed coming off of a 13-3 loss in their prior game.
Jazmine Benavides made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off 11 hits. Benavides was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Carolina Castilleja was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and a double while going 3-for-4. Kaelyn Knox was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
