Basketball Recap: Mason Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Mason won the last time they faced St. Johns and things went their way on Friday too. The Mason Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 64-48 win over the St. Johns Redwings. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Redwings are ranked 175th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mason's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for St. Johns, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Mason will head out on the road to face off against Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for St. Johns, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lowell on January 3, 2025. St. Johns is facing Lowell at the right time seeing as Lowell is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
