Soccer Recap: Independence Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Independence had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Arizona College Prep Knights a 1-0 shutout. Luis Barraza had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Patriots.

Independence is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Arizona College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

Coming up, Independence will venture away from home to square off against Sunrise Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Independence's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Arizona College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
