Basketball Game Preview: Covington Academy Bulldogs vs. Hills Academy Knights

Covington Academy is 1-6 against Hills Academy since February of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Covington Academy Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Hills Academy Knights at 6:30 p.m.

Last Thursday, Covington Academy ended up a good deal behind Milledgeville Athletic Club and lost 69-54. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 18-10 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Hills Academy entered their tilt with Young Americans Christian last Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They took down the Eagles 76-57. The Knights pushed the score to 57-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Hills Academy's win came from a few key players Covington Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Adrian Campbell, who posted 21 points. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tynor Parker, who put up 19 points.

Hills Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Covington Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Covington Academy came up short against Hills Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 70-65. Can Covington Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
