Basketball Recap: Vance County Vipers vs. Graham Red Devils

Vance County hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They slipped by the Graham Red Devils 57-56 on Monday.

Vance County was led to victory by Tyshawn Alston and Kayden Roberts. Alston dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards, while Roberts went 6 of 7 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Alston also racked up three steals, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Harold Timberlake, IV, who posted seven points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Micah Woods was another key player, going 9 for 18 en route to 21 points along with six steals and five boards.

Vance County's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Graham, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Vance County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 88-36 loss against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability on the 24th. As for Graham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 77-62 defeat against Cummings on the 28th.
