Memphis East gave up the first goal on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Southwind Jaguars. The victory was familiar territory for Memphis East, who have now won three games in a row.

John Nunez and Devin Drinkwater scored both of Memphis East's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Memphis East's win bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Southwind, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-7-1.

Coming up, Memphis East will head out on the road to take on Sheffield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memphis East will need to watch out since Sheffield have now posted at least four goals in their last four contests. As for Southwind, they will be playing at home against Millington Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
