Softball Recap: North East Carolina Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against Tarboro

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North East Carolina Prep). They blew past the Tarboro Vikings 19-3 on Tuesday. The Husky haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Bailee Boyette was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie Bunting, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

North East Carolina Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .885. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

North East Carolina Prep's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for Tarboro, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
