League recap: Carroll paces Greater Wichita City with two wins over past week

Greater Wichita City league recap: 5/30/13

Top honors in the league this week go to Carroll, which finished with two wins overall, good for best in the league. The Golden Eagles beat Eisenhower 5-1 and Mill Valley 5-4.

First place in Greater Wichita City belongs to Carroll, which has compiled a 22-2 overall record to go with its 15-1 league record. Heights is in second place, 3 games behind with a 13-5 record in league play.

The highest batting average in the league this week belonged to the Golden Eagles' Bryce Fischer, who churned out two hits in three at bats for a .667 average. His average for the season stands at .489, which ranks sixth in the league. Fischer has accumulated 22 base knocks this year so far.

Braden Larkey led Carroll to a win on May 23, as he notched eight strikeouts to beat the Tigers, 5-1. Over seven innings of work, he gave up five hits and one run.
