Baseball Recap: Springville Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Springville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Spanish Fork Dons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Devils have posted since May 17, 2024.

Springville's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reid Deede, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Kaden Tingey was another, going 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Springville pushed their record up to 9-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Spanish Fork, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-13 record.

Coming up, Spanish Fork will take on Salem Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Springville will be paying especially close attention to the Dons' match: after the Dons face off against the Skyhawks, they'll take on Springville again at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
