If it wasn’t good enough Freedom (Oakley, Calif.) senior Joe Mixon announced his college choice to Oklahoma, California's top football recruit according to 247Sports was named MVP of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio on Saturday

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound senior told a national television audience that his decision was largely pushed by Oklahoma’s 45-31 win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

He picked the Sooners over UCLA, Wisconsin and Cal.

“Once they won the Alabama game that shut the deal,” Mixon said. “Now I’m a Sooner.“

Mixon rushed for 1,909 all-purpose yards and 26 touchdowns in 2013 and finished with 4,281 rushing yards and 76 TDs for his career. He rushed for a touchdown in a 28-6 win for the West over the East on Saturday.

Here is a look back at Mixon's high school career through video and photos.
