Football Recap: Kameron Johnson and Layne Clark Pace Beebe Defense

If Beebe was feeling good fresh off their 35-12 takedown of Pine Bluff last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Badgers lost 49-24 to the Robinson Senators on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Badgers in their meetings with the Senators: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, Beebe still got an impressive performance from Curtis Goodrich, who rushed for 127 yards and a pair of TDs. Goodrich also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Badgers are 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Beebe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kameron Johnson and Layne Clark.

Robinson was led to victory by Bryshun Cunningham and Charles Petty. Cunningham rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, while Petty rushed for 28 yards and one score. Those 73 rushing yards gave Cunningham a new career-high.

Beebe's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Robinson, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Beebe will venture away from home to challenge Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Badgers will be up against the Titans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.13 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Robinson, they will head out to take on Searcy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Senators will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
