Basketball Recap: Manatee Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Bradenton Christian came into Thursday's game looking for another win against Manatee, but Justine Wilson wouldn't allow it. The Manatee Hurricanes blew past the Bradenton Christian Panthers 61-38 on Thursday thanks in part to Wilson, who posted 20 points. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points.

Tamia Searls was another key player, putting up 11 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

When it comes to explaining why Bradenton Christian lost, don't look at Lana Price. Despite the final result, she went 5 for 12 en route to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Price has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Blunden, who put up eight points and five boards.

Manatee has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Bradenton Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Manatee has already played their next game, a 45-27 loss against Gateway on the 20th. As for Bradenton Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-36 defeat against Port Charlotte on the 17th.
