Softball Recap: Western Wayne Wildcats vs. Dunmore Bucks

Western Wayne extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-7 in the process. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dunmore Bucks. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bucks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Khloe Mistishin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Raegan Palmer, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Dunmore, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

On Dunmore's side, Paige Ancherani made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ancherani has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and two stolen bases.
