Cherokee's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They beat North Cobb by a goal, winning 2-1. Given Cherokee's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 49th, while North Cobb is ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aubrie Wheeler and Kyndal Johnson scored both of Cherokee's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Cherokee's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for North Cobb, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, Cherokee will be playing in front of their home fans against Marietta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Cobb, they will head out to take on Denmark at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
