Preview: Clay City Eels vs. North Daviess Cougars
Clay City is 1-9 against North Daviess since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Clay City Eels on the road again and play against the North Daviess Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Clay City will be strutting in after a victory while North Daviess will be coming in after a loss.
Clay City put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 67-46 margin over Cloverdale. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Clay City has posted since December 9, 2023.
Meanwhile, North Daviess unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 39-26 to Barr-Reeve.
Clay City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for North Daviess, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
Clay City was taken down by North Daviess 72-43 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Clay City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
