There's no place like home for Leyden, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Proviso West Panthers on Thursday, sneaking past 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Leyden had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-21.

Steven Kaczowka paced Leyden's offense, picking up ten kills. Kaczowka got some help from Kamil Mroziak and his 36 assists. Mroziak was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Leyden's victory bumped their record up to 14-18. As for Proviso West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leyden will venture away from home to challenge Maine West at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Proviso West, they will head out to take on Wheeling at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
