Softball Recap: Raleigh Comes Up Short

West Jones hit Raleigh with a four-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on February 7th.

Raleigh saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laney Powell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Another was Kinley Delcid, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Raleigh has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for West Jones, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Coming up, Raleigh will be playing at home against Puckett at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Jones, they are taking a road trip to square off against Stringer at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
