Football Recap: St. Joseph Comes Up Short + How To Watch

St. Joseph dropped to 7-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 30-7 to the Arroyo Grande Eagles. The Knights were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than 31 points in the six contests prior), but the Eagles' defense proved too tough.

Despite the loss, St. Joseph saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grayson Gaines rushed for 129 yards. Gaines is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season.

As for Arroyo Grande, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Arroyo Grande, who have now won four contests by 23 points or more so far this season.

Caleb Clark continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 155 yards and two TDs on only ten carries, while also picking up 32 receiving yards and one score. Zack Tayman helped out on the ground, rushing for 114 yards.

St. Joseph has already played their next matchup, a 42-0 win against Lompoc on the 24th. As for Arroyo Grande, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mission College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th.
