Softball Recap: Barren County Now 13-2 over Last 15 Games

There's no place like home for Barren County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Russellville Panthers a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Barren County got a massive performance out of Kaitie Elmore, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Josey Moore, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Barren County is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Russellville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, Barren County and Russellville will both be playing Allen County-Scottsville the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
