Soccer Recap: Winnebago Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Winnebago can now relate to. They fell just short of the Rockford Christian Royal Lions by a score of 2-1 on Friday. Winnebago were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Rockford Christian earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Winnebago's goal came courtesy of Alexandra Vitale, who's now up to 15 this season.

Winnebago has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Rockford Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-12-1.

Winnebago does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rockford Christian, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Genoa-Kingston on the 20th.
