Walton-Verona has gone 9-1 against Gallatin County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Walton-Verona's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Gallatin County has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

On Saturday, Walton-Verona was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastern, taking the game 5-2.

Aidan Kerns spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Walton-Verona saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Dryden, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Trever Bauwens also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Gallatin County came up short against Hart County on Thursday, falling 11-1.

Walton-Verona has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Gallatin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Everything went Walton-Verona's way against Gallatin County when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Walton-Verona made off with a 19-1 victory. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
