            Basketball Recap: Samson Tigers vs. Houston County Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Samson was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. The  matchup between them and the Houston County Lions didn't end well, with the Samson Tigers falling  63-45. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in December of 2023.
Samson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Chase Ray, who  posted 12 points and eight  rebounds. Ray is trending in the right direction considering he's  improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hunter Lamb, who  earned seven  points.

 Even though they lost, Samson  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 11  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive rebounds in 30 consecutive  contests  dating back to last season.
Samson's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Houston County, they moved to 2-13 with that  victory, which also ended their 12-game losing streak.
 Samson will head out to  face off against Providence Christian  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Providence Christian will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  win, something Samson surely won't give up without a fight. As for Houston County, they will look to defend their home court  on Monday against Geneva County  at 7:30  p.m.
