Sonora had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 52-34 victory over the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Sonora got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli Ingalls out in front who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Those 131 rushing yards gave Ingalls a new career-high. Cash Byington was another key player, gaining 194 total yards and three touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Sonora's defensive line and their three sacks. Channce Davis was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

When it comes to explaining why St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy lost, don't look at Jaylen Stokes. Despite the final result, he picked up 223 receiving yards and one touchdown. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy also got help from Kenny Peevy, who showed off his sure hands for 114 receiving yards.

Sonora's record now sits at 13-2. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, they moved to 6-10 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Sonora nor St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy have any future games scheduled.
