Basketball Recap: Anderson County Comes Up Short

Anderson County was the 67-39 winner over Southwestern when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Anderson County Bearcats fell 52-39 to the Southwestern Warriors on Saturday.

Southwestern got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kinsley Molden out in front who posted 15 points. Molden's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Jaelyn Dye was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.

Anderson County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Southwestern, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson County will challenge Simon Kenton at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwestern, they will square off against Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Rockcastle County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
