Basketball Recap: Hatton Comes Up Short

Hatton lost against East Lawrence back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hatton Hornets had to suffer through a 68-30 loss at the hands of the East Lawrence Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Eagles are ranked 58th).

The defeat snapped Hatton's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-8 record. As for East Lawrence, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Hatton will take on Clements in a tournament on Friday. As for East Lawrence, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Colbert County at 5:45 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
