Volleyball Game Preview: Elm Creek Buffaloes vs. St. Patrick's Irish

After both having extra time off, the Elm Creek Buffaloes and the St. Patrick's Irish will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Elm Creek is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Amherst just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Monday. They fell 2-0 to the Broncos.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-19.

Meanwhile, St. Patrick's suffered their biggest defeat since September 16th on Tuesday. They came up short against Ogallala, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Irish in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost six in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-8, 25-15.

Elm Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for St. Patrick's, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.

Elm Creek took their victory against St. Patrick's in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffaloes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
