Basketball Recap: Valley Falls Takes a Loss

Valley Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by the Horton Chargers and fell 70-40. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-23.

Valley Falls lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jillian Meyer, who posted eight points and five boards. Those eight points gave Meyer a new career-high. Cali DeLong was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Even though they lost, Valley Falls was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Valley Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Horton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Valley Falls didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-36 loss against Pleasant Ridge on the 4th. Horton has also already played their next match (against Jackson Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
